The April 10 Day of Action for Immigrant Justice is being organized by grassroots groups all over the nation. It is being coordinated by the National Capital Immigrant Coalition in Washington, DC and by hundreds of grassroots groups from coast to coast. On March 27 there were 10 cities signed up to rally. By March 28, the number had risen to over 30. Three days later on March 31 the number again increased to over 100 cities across the United States joining the ranks.

Today, we announce that Harrisburg is among those 100. Please join us on April 10 from 12 pm to 2 pm to show your support against any continued injustice towards our immigrants. The rally will be held on the capitol steps on 3rd Street. We will be on hand from 10 am to 12 pm and 2 pm and 4 pm to help persons register to vote.

We encourage everyone that is able to attend this event at any city near you. As of April 1, we are aware that Philadelphia is hosting a rally. We understand that Pittsburgh will be sending a bus to Washington, DC. As we learn more we will be sure to pass the information on to you.

Please look for the April 2 story in the Patriot and your local news channels as well. This event is going to be in the history books.

As a show of solidarity if you are able, please wear a white t-shirt to represent peace. We ask that everyone remember this is a PEACEFUL rally, we are not seeking to offend or cause disruptions. We merely want to show our numbers. Let your power be heard by your presence.
